Who are we?

The Women’s and Newborn Health Specialty Practice Group is a network of SHPA members with interests across the fields of obstetrics, gynaecology, and neonatology.

We promote the health and wellbeing of women and newborns by improving medication management across all aspects of

women’s health – covering menarche to menopause and medicine use in pregnancy and breastfeeding; and

neonatal medicine – covering healthy newborns to those who require special and intensive care.

This specialty practice group is also highly relevant to those who work in medicines information or paediatrics. Those involved in caring for newborns are encouraged to also join the Paediatrics and Neonatology Specialty Practice Group.

Why join?

Join the Women’s and Newborn Health Specialty Practice Group if you want to access our network of experts and peers through the Women’s and Newborn Health Specialty Practice Group forum. You don’t need to specialise in women’s or newborn health to join the Women’s and Newborn Health Specialty Practice Group.

Communities, a new purpose-built platform for Specialty Practice, is coming. Access Specialty Practice via your SHPA Dashboard (shpa.org.au/dashboard) page.
