This seminar will provide an introduction to palliative care and will explore the pharmacist’s role within the interdisciplinary team caring for people with a terminal illness. It will offer an overview of the principles and philosophy that underpin the provision of a palliative approach to care. There will be an emphasis on symptom management and the use of medications within the broader context of holistic care, the patient’s phase of care and the setting of care provision.
This seminar will be delivered by a combination of self-paced learning and a half-day live virtual seminar.
