Who are we?
The Surgery and Perioperative Medicine Specialty Practice Group is a network of SHPA members who work in surgical units, operating theatres and/or anaesthetics departments and those in general wards where surgical patients are treated. Our members’ focus is on medicines management of patients before, during and after surgery as well as medication use in these areas of the hospital. We also have interest in pain management and antimicrobial use so have overlapping interest with other specialty practice groups .
