Who are we?

The Education and Educational Visiting Specialty Practice Group is a network of SHPA members who provide support to pharmacists and pharmacy support staff and contribute to the supervision, education or training of learners. This includes all grades of pharmacists (including interns), pharmacy technicians and assistants and students (pharmacy, medical, nursing and other health professionals). It includes both clinical and ‘soft skill’ education and training.

Members:

  • work in education across a variety of settings such as hospitals, academia, research and consultancy.
  • support the training, development and assessment through work-based assessment and professional development and learning of pharmacy learners including pharmacists, residents, interns, students, and technicians.
  • support the application of adult learning principles and other evidence-based approaches to design, deliver, maintain and evaluate education and training activities.
  • provide input into the development and evaluation of new educational programs.

Why join?

Join the Education and Educational Visiting Specialty Practice Group if you want to access the network of education and educational visiting experts and peers through the Education and Educational Visiting Specialty Practice Group forum. You don’t need to be in a specific educator role to join the Education and Educational Visiting Specialty Practice Group.

All pharmacists are involved in education, whether of themselves, students, staff and other health professionals. As a member of the Specialty Practice Group you have access to tools and resources and can learn from leaders in the field, share your expertise, develop your knowledge.

Communities, a new purpose-built platform for Specialty Practice, is coming. Access Specialty Practice via your SHPA Dashboard (shpa.org.au/dashboard) page.
